Pixies Finally Decide To Start Making There Album


In the seven years since the Pixies reformed for a series of highly successful series of reunion tours, they've managed to resist fans' pleas for a new album. But now, according to drummer David Lovering, the band is beginning to crack. "It's definitely a stronger possibility than it was a few years ago," he tells Rolling Stone. "It's going to be baby steps, though. We have the formula and we know we can do it. But we if put something out, it has to be good. Period. We don't want to break the legacy. It's much more of a free subject to talk about now though. We're gonna go slowly and see what will happen."

Soundgarden was a band that had been around long enough that it needed a long break," says Cornell, fresh off a plane and ready for another in a series of gigs with the reconstituted Soundgarden. "We had that break yet it doesn't feel as long as it's been. And everyone's refreshed about being in this band and writing new material. The intense, crazy moments that you shared together come rushing back.

Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr was found dead March 8 2011. Police found Starr's body in a Salt Lake City, Utah, house at 1:42 p.m. He was 44 years old. A co-founding member of the pioneering Seattle grunge band, Starr appeared on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" in 2009. He was arrested last month for felony possession of a controlled substance. Salt Lake City police said he had several painkillers on him when he was arrested. Alice in Chains have written heart-wrenching and evocative songs about drug addiction.
